You can ask us to delete your Namakkal Connect account at any time, for any reason, without giving one. This page explains how to request it, exactly what is removed, and the narrow cases where something may be kept because the law requires it.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to namakkalconnect@gmail.com from the email address on your account, or from any address if you signed in with a phone number.
- Use the subject line "Delete my Namakkal Connect account" so the request is not missed.
- Tell us how you signed in — the Google email address or the mobile number registered on the account. We need this to find the right account and to confirm it is yours.
- Wait for confirmation. We acknowledge within 7 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days. You will get an email when it is done.
Before you delete: if you only want to stop being contacted, you can remove individual listings, jobs or updates from inside the app, or turn off notifications in your device settings — without deleting your account.
Verifying it is really you
We will only act on a request we can tie to the account. If your email does not match the account, we may ask you to confirm the request from the registered email address, or to verify the registered mobile number. This is to stop somebody else deleting your listings.
What will be deleted
When your request is completed, we permanently delete:
- Your account and sign-in credentials held in Firebase Authentication (Google or phone number).
- Your user profile — display name, profile photograph, chosen area and any preferences.
- Your business listings, including their photographs, contact details, opening hours and any saved map pin or map link.
- Your job postings and their photographs.
- Your area updates — notices, events and announcements — and their photographs.
- Your vehicle and acting-driver listings.
- Your saved and favourited items.
- Your notification history and the device token used to send you notifications.
- All photographs you uploaded, from Firebase Storage.
Deletion is permanent. There is no undo, and we cannot restore an account or its listings afterwards. If you want to use the app again you will need to sign up from scratch.
Note about location: the app never stores your device location on our servers, so there is nothing to delete. A map pin you deliberately saved on your own business listing is deleted with that listing.
What may be retained
In a few narrow cases we may keep limited information after your account is gone. Where this happens, it is kept only for as long as necessary and is not used to contact you or to build a profile of you.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Moderation and audit records of decisions taken on content (for example, why a listing was rejected) | So decisions about published content remain traceable and can be defended if challenged | Up to 12 months, with your identifiers removed where possible |
| Reports you filed about other users' content, and reports filed about yours | To keep an ongoing safety investigation intact | Until the matter is resolved |
| Records of any advertising or payment arrangement | Tax, accounting and statutory record-keeping obligations under Indian law | As long as the law requires |
| Information subject to a legal hold, court order or lawful request from an authority | Legal obligation | As long as the obligation lasts |
| Backups held by our infrastructure provider | Backups expire on their own cycle and cannot be edited selectively | Overwritten in the normal backup rotation |
Content other people have already seen
Deleting your account removes your listings from the app. It cannot recall information that other users already saw, saved or wrote down while a listing was public — including a phone number published on it.
